2011 Mid-South Conference Track & Field Championships

Hosted By: The University of Rio Grande

On April 29th & 30th

 

 

Entry Fee:                  $175 per team. Men and Women are separate. Please send a check, payable to Mid-South Conference, to the conference office by April 22.

 

Entries:                       Limit (3) athletes per event per school and one relay team per school. The individuals on the relay team do not have to be set until race check-in.

 

Entry Procedure:        All entries will be spot checked through TFRRS. All entries will be done through Direct Athletics (directathletics.com) and are due by 11:59pm on Tuesday April 26th. According to the Mid South Conference By-Laws, "A student-athlete who submits a time or mark better than he/she has actually run in the year of the Conference will be DQ from the meet in all events. A time or mark achieved in the previous Indoor Season may be used in events that are held in the conference meet. Each student-athlete must have an F.A.T. time or certified mark to get seeded in the meet. He/she can

still compete in an event without his/her mark, but must be entered as N.T. or N.M."

 

Weigh-In(s):               Implement weigh-in will be in the Red Storage building located at the far end of the track by the finish line.

Friday: Weigh-in will be open from 10:00am to 11:30am and the weigh-in for the hammer will be from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. Saturday: Weigh-in will be open from 7:30am to 11:30am.

 

Scoring:                      Scoring will be based on the number of teams entered in the meet. We will score one place more than the number of teams entered. 1st-10pts, 2nd-8pts, 3rd-6pts, 4th-5pts, 5th-4pts, 6th-3pts, 7th-2pts, 8th-1pts.

 

Facility:                      Stockmeister Track and Field Complex

400m broken-back track with a polyurethane spray surface and internal throwing areas for all throwing events. The javelin will be thrown from a track surface runway; ¼" spike only.

 

Team Parking:            The team parking area will be on the track road leading from Bevo Francis Drive to the track facility; please email in advance if your team will be traveling in vans or a bus to rwilley@rio.edu.

 

Packet Pick-Up:         Packets can be picked-up outside the facility.

 

Spectators:                 Spectators will be charged $5 admission to the event; spectators will be parked in the Bob Evans Farm Field next to the track.

 

Clerking Area:            The Clerking Area will be located to the left of the main entrance of the track by the 110m hurdle start line. Hip numbers can be collected at that area. The clerk will bring the contestants to the line prior to the race; please check in 15 minutes prior to the start of each respective event.

 

Team Area:                 Team Tents can be set up to the left of the entrance and clerk station near the 200m start mark. Please, no tents in the spectator area.

 

Trainer:                       A trainer will be available at the trainer tent near the finish line. Please inform in advance if your team will be bringing a trainer at rwilley@rio.edu.

 

Locker Rooms:           Locker rooms are available to all athletes in the Lyne Center, located on the hill overlooking the athletic fields.

 

Rules:                         NCAA rules will be used for the meet.

 

Banquet:                     Located at Rio Student Center Cafeteria on April 29 at 7:15pm. The dress will be semi-formal. We need a count by Sunday, April 24th from each team of an approximate number of athletes you have, if you have already let us know.

 

 

 

 

*If you plan on eating in the cafeteria on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday please give us a

number of athletes attending. Sodexo is the catering company, so if you have this food

company at your school you may make arrangements.
