Head Coach - 2nd Season

    Morris begins his second season as the head coach of the RedStorm and, at age 25, is one of the youngest head coaches in the country.
    A double graduate of the University of Rio Grande, Morris received both his Bachelors' and Masters' degrees in Sport Exercise Science and Education, respectively, with a Specialization in Sports Leadership and Coaching.
    "I'm looking forward to a tough season and a very competitive calendar and I'm hoping my players will continue to take huge strides as we look to move this program forward," said Morris, who spent two seasons as an assistant coach in the program before assuming his current role. "With the coaching staff I have and the players in my squad, I firmly believe we are well on the way to breaking more records and opening more eyes. We're letting people know Rio women's soccer is on the move"
    Morris, a native of Middlesbough, England, came to the United States at the age of 17. He played at the Middlesbough Academy as a trainee and spent two years at the Middlesbough College Football Academy. He graduated from the Rye Hills Secondary School in 2002 and spent two years at Middlesbough College.
    Morris played four years for the Rio Grande men's team, wrapping up his career following the 2008 season. He served as a captain during the 2007 campaign and finished his career with 22 goals and 18 assists. He scored 18 of his 22 career goals during the 2008 season, which ended with the RedStorm finishing as the NAIA National Runner-Up.

 

Chris Skarratt
Assistant Coach - 4th Season
    Skarratt is beginning his fourth season as a member of the RedStorm coaching staff.
    A native of Rossendale, England, Skarratt graduated from All Saints RC High School in 2000 and attended Preston College for three years. He played for Lancashire Academy and the Lancashire Under-18 and Under-19 teams, while also playing at the semi-pro level in England as well.
    Skarratt was offered a scholarship to play for Rio Grande at age 19, but suffered a broken ankle and didn't make the decision to attend URG until two years later. Upon his arrival, he was a four-year player for Rio Grande (2005-08) and served as captain for three seasons, twice earning 2nd Team All-America Mideast Conference honors.
    Skarratt played a huge part in the success of the Rio women's program two seasons ago, when the team broke all types of records. Previously, he coached three years of summer camp for both boys and girls and one year of summer camp for the Rossendale (England) County Council.
    He is currently enrolled in Rio Grande's Masters' Program for Education with a Specialization in Sports Leadership and Coaching.
    Skarratt's primary responsibilities this season will be in scouting.
 

Phil Stansfield

Assistant Coach - 2nd Season

    Stansfield is in his second season as an assistant coach with the RedStorm.
    A native of Leeds, England, Stansfield graduated from Rio Grande in 2011 with a degree in Sports & Exercise Studies, with a minor in marketing. He is currently pursuing a Master's Degree at the school.
    Prior to coming to Rio Grande, Stansfield played professionally with Leeds United. After being released at age 18, he gained the attention of Rio Grande head coach Scott Morrissey at a USA college soccer event and, shortly thereafter, decided to play for the RedStorm.
    Stansfield played three full years on the varsity team, receiving All-Conference honors in the 2009. He also helped the RedStorm to the National Championship final in 2008 and the NAIA Final Four in 2009.
    Stansfield coached at Leeds United for two years coaching the under-12 team. He has also coached at LSU, URG and many high school teams across America.
    His responsibilities include conducting training sessions, scouting, recruiting high-quality players and man-to-man management.

 

Peter Masters

Assistant Coach - 1st Season
    Masters is the newest member of the Rio coaching staff.
    A native of Middlesborough, England, Masters is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Fla.), where he played for the Eagles from 2005-08. He was a first team All-The Sun Conference selection in 2005 and a second team all-league honoree in 2006.
    Prior to his arrival at Embry-Riddle, Masters played for the high-profile Middlesborough Academy and, at age 16, signed on to play full-time for the Middlesborough F.C Youth Team & Reserves. He was part of a team which captured the F.A. Youth Cup in 2004 and finished as the runner-up in 2003.
    Masters' previous coaching experience includes leading Marton F.C. to Britian's Junior League championship and assisting with the Redcar and Cleveland Primary School's Under-11s district team for three seasons. Redcar and Cleveland reached the national tournament for the first time earlier this year.
    He also coached the St. Mary's men's team in 2010-2011, winning the League Cup in the process.
    Masters' responsibilities will include recruiting, training and fundraising.
