Rio's Wilson earns second MSC Runner of the Week honor

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- For the second time this season, University of Rio Grande sophomore Bryce Wilson is the Mid-South Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

The weekly conference award is the second of the season for Wilson.

Wilson won the men's race at the Wilmington Fall Classic with a time of 25:19 over the 8,000 meter course to earn the men's conference runner of the week. The Jackson, Ohio, sophomore crossed the line ahead of the 265-man field to help the RedStorm capture the team title.

Wilson has been the lead runner for the RedStorm men's team this year and the race at Wilmington was the second one that he had won this season, the first was the Rio Grande Invitational, September 26.

He won the MSC Runner of the Week for winning that race earlier this season.

"Once again, we're excited for Bryce, twice in the same year, I could used to this," said Rio Grande head coach Bryce Wilson. "He's really established himself this season, he has worked really hard and all of that training is paying off for him."

Wilson and the RedStorm are off this weekend and will be back in competition on October 30 when they host the Red & White Invitational at the Stanley Evans complex.
