RedStorm men win Fall Classic; women 15th

Wilmington, Oh. --- The University of Rio Grande RedStorm men's cross country team was knocking on the door to the NAIA Top 25 door this past week. They may well burst through it this week with an impressive performance at the Wilmington Fall Classic on Friday afternoon, winning the event. The RedStorm women finished 15th out of a 25-team field.
On the women's side, senior Stacy Arnett (Laurelville, OH) was the top finisher for the RedStorm as she crossed the line 24th and covered the 3.1-mile course in 20:06. She edged teammate sophomore Kayla Renner (Grove City, OH), who was 25th with a time of 20:09.
The rest of the RedStorm women's results: sophomore Molly Roark (South Webster, OH), 131st (22:07); freshman Holly Haines (McConnellsville, OH), 155th (22:46); sophomore Danielle Stockham (London, OH), 161st (22:56) and junior Hillary Haines.
 
There were 244 runners in the women's race.
 

Rio Grande will have next week off before returning to competition at the Red & White Invitational at Rio Grande on Friday, October 30.
