RedStorm women fall at St. Catharine

St. Catharine, Ky. --- The University of Rio Grande RedStorm women's soccer team headed to St. Catharine with designs of righting the ship. The RedStorm however, were not able to change their present course as they dropped a 2-0 decision to St. Catharine in a Mid-South Conference game on Tuesday afternoon.

Rio Grande (1-8-1, 0-3 MSC) lost for the sixth consecutive time and is still searching for its first MSC win. Rio had chances to score, but just could not find the back of the net.

The RedStorm team was dealt another blow prior to the game as they found out that freshman forward Candace Chapman (Jackson, OH) is lost for the remainder of the season with an injury.

St. Catharine (5-3-1, 1-1 MSC), who picked to finish in the basement of the MSC, picked up its first MSC win of the season with the shutout of Rio Grande.

The RedStorm will stay in conference play as they travel to Campbellsville on Friday, October 9. Kick-off is set for 4 p.m.
