Cedarville, Ohio --- A small number of competitors from the University of Rio Grande RedStorm men's team made the trek to Cedarville to compete against a strong field of teams at the Cedarville Invitational on Friday. The RedStorm men claimed a 13th place finish (out of 16 teams), scoring six points.
The field of competition consisted of NCAA Division I teams, Xavier University and Wright State as well as NCAA Division II schools, Ashland and Central State. NAIA national power Cedarville and Mid-South Conference foe Lindsey Wilson College were also a part of the field.
Freshman distance man Myles Corcoran (Wilmington, OH) recorded a 7th place finish in the 1-mile run with a time of 4:30.18 and junior distance runner Nick Wilson (Barlow, OH) also notched a 7th place finish, in the 3,000-meter run. Wilson covered the distance in 9:01.29.
Rio Grande will be back competing next weekend at the Kent State Tune-up. This will be the final meet for Rio Grande before the NAIA Indoor National Championships, beginning the first week of March.
