Rio Grande women drop third straight

Pepper Pike, Oh. --- The University of Rio Grande RedStorm women's soccer team played well and put up a good fight on Thursday afternoon at Ursuline College, but it was not enough to stop the losing or scoring skid that the Rio team is currently in. Ursuline won the game 2-0.

Rio Grande (1-5-1) had five shots in the game. The RedStorm stepped up their level of play, but were unlucky in getting anything to go their way.
Ursuline (7-1) fired 12 shots in the game and was able to get a couple of goals in the second half and collect the victory. Emily Greene scored both goals for the Arrows.
It was an even match between the two teams, just as last year's game was at Rio Grande, with the Arrows being able to come out on top.

Despite the loss, Rio came away encouraged with their improved play as they battled until the final gun.

Rio has lost three games in a row and the scoreless streak has reached four consecutive games.

The RedStorm will get back into Mid-South Conference play on Sunday afternoon (September 27) at Evan Davis Field. Kick-off is set for 5 p.m.
