Columbia, Ky. --- It was a rough day at the office for the University of Rio Grande RedStorm women's soccer team as they lost to NAIA No. 9 Lindsey Wilson College, 8-0 on Saturday evening in Mid-South Conference action at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

 

Rio Grande (5-9, 2-5 MSC) fell to 1-8 on the road team this season, including one game on a neutral field. 

 

The RedStorm once again were not able to mount any type of offensive attack against the Blue Raiders. 

 

Lindsey Wilson (11-5, 7-0 MSC) scored four goals in each half. Eight different players scored for the Blue Raiders. Mia Persson scored one goal and assisted two others and Heini Metsola registered three assists.

 

Rio freshman goalkeeper Hannah Stickelman (Ontario, OH) had a busy night as she recorded nine saves in the game. Lindsey Wilson fired 32 shots on the night, 17 of which were on goal.

 

Jordan Morrison was credited with a shutout in goal in for the Blue Raiders. 

 

Rio Grande will return home on Monday night (October 25) for an MSC contest versus Pikeville College. The game will kick-off at 5 p.m. and will played on the Rio Grande practice field.
