
Junior Kayla Renner (Galloway, OH) was the next Rio harrier to cross the finish line. Renner was 132nd overall. She covered the 3.1-mile course in 19:44.9.
Sophomore Amy Lower (Westerville, OH) finished 213th and recorded a time of 21:23.2.
Other RedStorm results: freshman Genna Baker (Gallipolis, OH), 213th (21:40); senior Hillary Haines (McConnellsville, OH), 244th (22:40.1) and junior Danielle Stockham (London, OH), 260th (23:37.2).
There were 285 runners in the women's race.
"Cassie was disappointed that she didn't break 19 minutes, but she ran well and I was very pleased with the way Genna Baker ran," said Rio Grande head coach Bob Willey. "The ladies are doing well for us this year."
Miami-Ohio won the event, scoring 43 points.
Rio Grande will have the week off before returning to competition on October 15 at the Wilmington Fall Classic. The women's race is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
