Rio Grande --- The University of Rio Grande is pleased to announce a new venture that will take the RedStorm athletic programs into the realm of video streaming of live events.
Rio Grande has signed on with iHigh.com out of Lexington, Ky. for this new endeavor. This new partnership will allow Rio Grande to stream live video of athletic events on the World Wide Web, giving fans the opportunity to watch their favorite teams in action. Not only will fans be able to see the games live, but if they miss the event or want to go back and view it again, archived broadcasts will also be available.
Rio Grande Director of Athletics Jeff Lanham expressed his excitement for this new venture and how it will better connect Rio Grande with its fan base. "We are very excited about our adventure with iHigh! " Lanham said. "Our web site now can be the place where parents, friends, family and fans can come and watch what is going on with Rio Athletics. What a great opportunity for relatives to go online and watch loved ones participate in Rio Athletics."
A complete broadcast schedule is not set as of yet, but the plan is to stream as many live events as possible.
Rio's partnership with iHigh.com does not have to be limited to athletic events and one of the goals is to stream other events on campus as well. "This is a fantastic way to promote our student/athletes and all of our events on campus," Lanham said. "We will be able to broadcast any event on campus such as events in the Fine Arts building, Founders Day Celebration, Graduation and any special activity on campus!"
The streaming can be accessed by logging onto http://www.ihigh.com/redstorm/ or click on the iHigh broadcast link on the Rio Grande athletics website at www.rioredstorm.com.
