Rio's Miller completes marathon at nationals
Marion, Ind. --- University of Rio Grande sophomore Zane Miller completed the men's marathon on Saturday morning at the NAIA Track & Field National Championships at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Miller, a native of Grove City, Ohio, finished 28th overall (out of 42 finishers) with a time of 2:50:51.90.
Miller was ranked 45th in the nation going into the event. His qualifying time for the national meet was 1:16:17.00 at the Capital City Half Marathon.
Miller was the last of three Rio Grande athletes to compete at the national meet. Nick Wilson ran in the 5,000-meter run, finishing 25th in the semifinals and Cassie Mattia competed in the 400-meter hurdles on the women's side. She advanced as far as the semifinals.
