Rio's Wilson runs at nationals
Marion, Ind. --- University of Rio Grande red-shirt freshman Nick Wilson competed in the 5,000-meter semifinals on Friday evening at the NAIA Track & Field National Championships at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Wilson, a native of Fleming, Ohio, did not qualify for the finals as he finished 25th overall
(out of 33 finishers) with a time of 15:46.63.
Wilson was ranked 39th in the nation going into the event. His qualifying time for the
national meet was 15:10.52.
Rio Grande has one competitor remaining in sophomore Zane Miller. Miller will run the men's marathon at 6 a.m. on Saturday. He ranks 45th out of 49 runners in the event.
