Oxford, OH --- The University of Rio Grande RedStorm men's and women's track and field squads were in competition at the Miami Open on Saturday. The RedStorm men's team finished 14^th (out of 15 teams) with six points and the RedStorm women were 15^th (out of 15) with four points. 

Senior sprinter Chris Woodfork (Chillicothe, OH) was the only Rio performer to score as he placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.23. Woodfork was also14^th in

the 200-meter dash (23.11). 

Sophomore Mike Green (Columbus, OH) finished just out of the top 10 in the long jump with an 11^th place effort of 20 feet, 11 ¾ inches. He was 13^th in the100-meter dash with a time of 11.39. Freshman sprinter Jay Butler (Cincinnati, OH) was 12^th overall in the

men's 200-meter dash with a time of 23.00. Red-shirt freshman Nick Wilson (Fleming, OH) ran 15^th in the 5,000-meter run. He covered the distance in 15:16.52. 

Senior David Croom (Heath, OH) was 17^th in the 200 meters (23.35) and 20^th in the 100 meters (11.53). Senior Wayne Dudley (Columbus, OH) was 20^th in the long jump

with a best effort of 17 feet, 7 ½ inches. 

Other RedStorm men's results: sophomore Lucas Murphy (Grove City, OH) was 23^rd in

both the 800-meter run (2:03.39) and the 1,500-meter run (4:11.35). Freshman Joe Taranto (Pickerington, OH) was 24^th in the 1,500 (4:13.09), junior Matt Spencer (Pickerington, OH) was 29^th in the 5,000-meter run (15:48.33) and sophomore Zane Miller (Grove City, OH) finished 42^nd in the 5,000 (16:26.45).
