NAIA/Rio Grande Sports Information
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced that 467 women's indoor & outdoor track & field student-athletes, including 12 from the University of Rio Grande, have been named 2017 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.
Rio Grande was represented on the list by junior Keri Lawrence (Pomeroy, OH), senior McKenzie Coriell (Lucasville, OH), senior Alex Ellis (Ona, WV), senior Katie Glover (Ashville, OH), senior Shelby Pickens (Racine, OH), senior Nichole Worsham (Beavercreek, OH), junior Rachel Ball (Chillicothe, OH), junior Katie Browning (Athens, OH), junior Kylie Caudill (Pickerington, OH), junior Andrea Hunt (Eldorado, OH), junior Tyanna Petty (Somerset, OH) and senior Bre West (Gallipolis, OH).
Concordia (Neb.) led all schools for the second straight year with 14 student-athletes making the list.
