KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Rio Grande junior Audra Clark was among the 286 Division II women's basketball student-athletes named 2016-17 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) on Monday.
Clark, a forward from St. Marys, W.Va., carries a 3.94 grade point average while majoring in Early Childhood Education.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
On the court, Clark averaged 3.0 points and 1.3 rebounds for the RedStorm, which finished 19-12 following a loss at Indiana University-Kokomo in the quarterfinal round of the River States Conference tournament last month.
Clark scored a season-high 11 points in a win over Salem (WV) International on November 18.
Davenport (Mich.) and Oklahoma Wesleyan led all schools with eight students earning a spot on the list.
