KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Two members of the University of Rio Grande volleyball team are among the 481 student-athletes who have been named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
Autumn Snider, a senior right side hitter/middle blocker from Marion, Ohio and Aleah Pelphrey, a junior right side hitter from Piketon, Ohio represented the RedStorm on the list.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
Snider is majoring in Health Care Administration, while minoring in Business Management. Pelphrey is an Early Childhood Education major.
Midland (Neb.) lead all institutions with 10 individuals on the list. In total, 152 institutions were named to the list.
