    CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Seniors Nick Wilson and Kayla Renner once again gave the University of Rio Grande its top finishes, as the RedStorm cross country teams took part in Saturday's All-Ohio Championships hosted by Cedarville University.
    Wilson (Barlow, OH) placed 42nd overall among the 301 runners in the men's division with a time of 25:39, while Renner (Galloway, OH) was 114th overall among the 298 runners on the women's side.
    Wilson's time on the 8K men's course was the 16th best among those representing NCAA Division II and NAIA schools, while Renner's finish was 29th among the Division II/NAIA runners on the women's 5K course.
    As a team, the Rio Grande men placed 34th out of 44 squads overall and eighth out of the 12 Division II/NAIA teams who participated. The RedStorm did not have enough runners to post a team score in the women's competition.
    The remaining times and finishes for the RedStorm men included junior Joe Taranto (Pickerington, OH), who placed 160th overall with a time of 27:22; freshman Kyle Sanborn (Dover, OH), who was 209th in a time 28:18; sophomore Dustin Moritz (Ironton, OH), who placed 216th with a time of 28:24; senior Chad McCarty (Bethel, OH), who was 236th after crossing the line in 28:59; and freshman Caleb Greer (Orrville, OH), who was 284th in a time of 32:36.
    In the women's division, junior Amy Lower (Lancaster, OH) placed 207th with a time of 21:36; junior Brittany Piccone (Crooksville, OH) was 220th in a time of 22:00; and senior Danielle Stockham (London, OH) was 282nd with a finishing mark of 25:38.
    Cincinnati, Miami-Ohio and Cedarville were the top trio of teams in the men's overall competition, while the top three Division II/NAIA squads were Cedarville, Shawnee State and Malone.
    Xavier outdistanced Kent State and Dayton for the women's overall team title. Malone, Ashland and Tiffin were the top three team finishers among Division II/NAIA schools.
    Rio Grande will have the upcoming weekend off before returning to action on October 12 at the Wilmington Fall Classic.
