RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande women's soccer team will look to snap a two-game losing streak on Saturday afternoon when the RedStorm welcomes No.3-ranked Lindsey Wilson College to Evan E. Davis Field.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. EST. Head coach Callum Morris' squad slipped to 4-6 overall and 1-3 in the Mid-South Conference with a 2-1 loss at St. Catharine College on Wednedsay afternoon. It marks the first time that the RedStorm have been two games under the .500 mark this season, since beginning the year with two straight losses.
Freshman forward Kasey Crow (Chillicothe, OH) leads Rio in scoring with 18 points as a result of eight goals and a pair of assists. She accounted for the lone goal in Wednesday's loss.
Crow ranks third in the MSC in goals scored.
Also sporting double-digit scoring totals for the RedStorm are junior forward Alex Davis (Ashville, OH) and freshman forward Courtney Young (Ross, OH). Davis has five goals and three assists for 13 points, while Young has five goals for 10 points.
Freshman midfielder Taylor Ahrens (Ross, OH) also has three assists and is tied with Davis and one other for 8th place among the MSC leaders.
Sophomore goal keeper Allison Keeney (Cincinnati, OH) has a 4-3 record and has allowed 17 goals in seven games, while also recording 54 saves.
Lindsey Wilson is 6-2-1 overall and 3-0 in the MSC following a 2-0 win over Cumberland (TN) University on Tuesday night - the Blue Raiders' fourth straight triumph.
LWC's top two scores in terms of goals are senior midfielder Mia Persson, who has found the net seven times, and sophomore forward Laerke Lillelund-Michaelsen, who has five goals to her credit.
Lillelund-Michaelsen is also tied with her teammate, freshman midfielder Natasha Gensetter, for third place among the MSC leaders with four assists.
Freshman goalie Josephine Frigge has seen the bulk of the time in net for the Blue Raiders. In six games, she has a 5-0 record with four goals allowed and 15 saves.
